826-3. Scarce Later War Nazi K98 Bayonet Varient with "Waffenampt" on Blade. Outstanding example of the later war roughly-made K98 bayonet. The unusual feature of this bayonet is that the blade bears a waffenampt marking "WaA518" stamped on the blade, the only example I can remember seeing with that marking on the blade. The blade also bears the maker's code "43asw" (E. & F. Horster & Co., Solingen maker) and the serial number "3358 dd". The bayonet pommel also bears two waffenampt markings. Near excellent reddish-brown bakelite grips. Outstanding blued steel blade. Mismatched scabbard is coded "42asw" and has a different serial number than the bayonet. Undented scabbard has lost its blued finish and comes with its original black leather frog having a broken closing strap end. This bayonet is a scarce and unusual varient with the waffenampt marking on the blade...$165.
